Proper nominal Christian | Direct evil of divorce

September 28, 2012

From a forum post.

Thanks for the thread. Two issues of interest here.

One. The definition of a proper nominal Christian. For me, the proper nominal Christian is one who freely and knowingly confesses Christ and Him crucified. The stats quoted may reflect this to some degree.

Two. The varying direct evil of divorce and separation. This is dependent on circumstances. It is the children who suffer inordinately. Children have an enormous, largely unrecognized, fear of abandonment. If a spouse, a capable adult, can be abandoned, the security of a still very dependent child disappears. Even secular psychiatrists have discovered the reality of evil in divorce (or suicide) when there are still dependent children under 18.
