Old things are lost

March 6, 2012

Old things are lost. Benefits of old fashioned technologies are not always enhanced or even maintained by the new fangled. Losses due to the personal computer are given careful examination at link. The distration section, copied below, should be thoughtfully examined by all.

Distraction – Using technology offers instant access to so much, but it can also offer distraction from the task at hand.  I’m not saying we shouldn’t use computers (and alarm clocks, phones, etc.)  I am saying that we shouldn’t be naïve to the distraction that technology, especially the connected technologies online, can bring to our week.  Maybe it would be worth keeping an accurate time log to discover just how distracted you get in a typical week! [My emphasis]

(Dispensations are, of course, different. Old things are passed away, but this is not a liability.)

Hat tip: BibleWorks on FaceBook:

BibleWorks is premiere tool for original language exegesis of the Biblical text. [and handy for English only students of God’s Word, as well.]
