Thorough testing brings humility

February 27, 2012

Testimony about the actual men of our special forces. Full disclosure: I have know half-a-dozen or so veterans of special forces service in Nam, Central America, Middle East, etc. The training thoroughly reveals the physical and mental limitations of the strongest, and quickest, and brightest of men. It teaches humility.

Waugh said that he went into the film with the Hollywood representation of these officers, which he said is “always some screwed-up Rambo Terminator” but he noted that the real men “are just so humble…they were so different than what they are presented as” in other films. http://bit.ly/xGH9yN

Severe trials and testing and tribulation are a great blessing to them that love God, the called according to His purpose.

(Jam 1:2-4 NKJ) My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

(Rom 5:3-5 NKJ) And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope.  5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
